KATI welcomes reversal of increased social upper wage limit

KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has appreciated Sindh Government’s decision for withdrawal of enhanced upper wage limit of social security from Rs 10,000 to Rs 22,400 per annum to be paid by the employer for a worker.

President KATI, Tariq Malik and other office bearers, in their joint statement here on Thursday, praised Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Labor Minister Syed Nasir Hussain for the review of the policy.

The reversal of the increase in social security amount has provided a sigh of relief but some issues were yet to be resolved, they said.

They reiterated the association’s demand that proposals for amnesty on SECCI enrollment and one window operations related to labor welfare departments be taken into account at the earliest.
