Keamari district created in line with PPP Chairman’s vision: Minister

KARACHI:Sindh Minister for Local Government (LG) Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Monday said that Keamari district has been created in accordance with the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The Sindh government was paying full attention to the development of the district, he said this while presiding over a meeting pertaining to district Keamari here.

The meeting was attended by Member National Assembly (MNA) from Keamari Qadir Patel, Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Shah, MD Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Asadullah Khan, DG KDA Nasir Abbas Soomro, DG LDA Ishaq Khuhro, Administrators of DMCs and others.

The minister said that distribution of resources of DMC’s in both the districts will be made in fair manner. DMC’s employees and OZT share were being distributed under the set formula, he added.

During the meeting, MNA Qadir Patel apprised the minister about the problems of Keamari and development schemes there.

On which, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah directed KDA to complete the construction of Main Hawks Bay Road and Massan Road as soon as possible,to make it easier for citizens to travel. He also directed to start the construction of a jetty on Baba Bhitt Island where more than 50,000 population was facing severe difficulties in commuting.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that lack of drinking water in the area was greater issue,few years back former President Asif Ali Zardari had gifted RO plants to the people of Keamari which were non functional now. He directed MD KW&SB to make operational Machhar Colony, Sikandarabad and Kumaila Chowk RO plants.

Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Housing Project was an important project of Sindh government in which 18,000 plots had been allotted and added that construction of road leading to the scheme should be completed as soon as possible and a new scheme should be prepared consisting of water, gas and electricity supply components for the housing scheme.
