KARACHI:Iqbal Market Police here on Monday arrested a man for allegedly cheating people by impersonating as an Excise official and promising them jobs. The accused identified as Suhail, son of Imtiaz, took money from people by promising them jobs, while his accomplice Sheeraz, son of Sikander also abetted him in his illegal activities, said SSP district West Shaukat Ali Khattian. The police have also recovered fake/forged appointment letters, identity cards and fake government number plates from the accused. Meanwhile, Paposh Nagar police arrested two suspected street criminals after an encounter and recovered two T.T.pistols, six rounds, one stolen motorcycle, two mobile phones and cash Rs 3,960 from them, said SSP Central Arif Aslam Rao. The suspects identified as Mohammad Ali alias Lomri, son of Mohammad Hussain; and Mohammad Waqas Qureshi, son of Fazal Deen are nominated in case no 107/2019 registered under section 392/353/324/34 read with (7) of Anti-Terrorism Act and under section 108/2019 and section 23-1(a) Sindh Arms Act. The police said both the accused are also nominated in the cases lodged with Rizvia, Kharadar, Nazimabad, Garden, Pak Coloney, Korangi Industrial Area, Bilal Coloney and Paposh Nagar police stations.
