KARACHI:Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said we not only understand the problems of trader’s community in the metropolitan city but also raising the issue at every forum for their resolutions and making efforts to boost commercial activities.
He said this while talking to a delegation of the Karachi Tajir Ittehad which led by its chairman Ateeq Mir called on him in his office on Monday.
Deputy Mayor Arshad Hasan, chairmen of different committees and department heads were also present on this occasion. The delegation asked the mayor to expedite the provision of
alternate business place to traders who have been displaced in the anti-encroachments campaign.
They also gave suggestion for cleaning of drain near Civil Hospital, removal of encroachments and transforming the Robson Road near Jama Cloth Market at model road. The Mayor called upon the traders to cooperate with KMC in the road and foot path construction and maintenance so these works could be carried out speedily. Ateeq Mir thanked the Mayor for taking interest in resolution of traders’ problems and solving the issues pertaining to roads and sewage overflow in various areas including Garden and Urdu Bazar. He assured all support to KMC in its action against encroachments.
