KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) head Dr Farooq Sattar held telephonic talks on Saturday and agreed to hold a meeting next week to discuss the possibility of changing the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly.
According to a statement issued by PTI’s Central Media Secretariat, Shah Mahmood Qureshi will lead a party’s delegation to meet the MQM leadership in Karachi on September 26.
The PTI team will comprise of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Imran Ismail and Firdous Naqvi.
It is noted here that veteran PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah is the incumbent opposition leader in the lower house of the Parliament.
According to sources, PTI is also in contact with PML-Q and other parties to evolve a consensus on ousting Khursheed Shah as opposition leader.
