Youm-i-Ashur to be observed with due reverence

KARACHI: As elsewhere Youm-i-Ashur, the 10th of Muharram, would be observed in Karachi on Sunday with due reverence and sanctity to pay glowing tributes to the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala.

The main mourning procession will be taken out from Nishter Park after a Majalis.

After passing through its traditional route it will culminate in evening at Husanian Iranian in Kharadar.

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have made foolproof security arrangements. The entire route is sealed with the containers to check the entry of any unauthorized persons.

Sharp shooters would also be deployed atop the building along the route of the main mourning procession in the metropolis.

The Corps Commander Karachi, Lt. Gen. Shahid Baig Mirza, on Friday visited the headquarters of Pakistan Rangers Sindh where he was briefed about the security measures taken for Muharram.

While expressing satisfaction on the arrangements, he directed that the security for mourning processions, Immambarghas and places of workshop be beefed up further.
