KARACHI: Known businessman Zakaria Usman has been elected as Chairman Pakistan Plastic Manufacturers Association (PPMA) unopposed for the term of 2017-18. Annual election for six executive committee seats was held at PPMA Secretariat in Karachi.
S M Tariq of Tariq Plastico Pvt. Ltd. and Asif Rasheed of Rasheed Sons also elected unopposed as Senior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Other newly elected executive committee members include Shakil Ahmed of Mehran Plastic Industries Pvt Ltd., Mohammad Siddique Adam of ABS Plastic and Akhlaq Ahmed of Sunny Co.
Election Commissioner Iqbal Lakhani announced election result during annual general meeting of PPMA. Shoaib Munshi, Imran Ghani, Mustafeez-ul-Din, Ali Kunji, Zahid Ahmed, S M Anwer, Noman and others were also present on this occasion.
Outgoing chairman Ehtisham Uddin and former chairman Zafar Saeed congratulated newly elected members and office bearers of association, and offered their complete support to discharge their responsibilities successfully.
Speaking on this occasion, Ehtisham Uddin appreciated efforts of his cabinet, executive committee and members for successfully organizing plastic industry exhibition and other events. He praised untiring efforts of S M Anwer to ensure publication of association magazine with high quality standards.
Addressing to members, newly elected Chairman Zakaria Usman lauded services of outgoing cabinet and told that he has been involved with more than 150 associations and have successfully sorted out its issues with government organizations on taxes and other matters. He has done historical tasks during his tenure in Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).
Zakaria Usman announced to hold next plastic industry exhibition in Lahore and vowed to work day and night to make this another historical event with help of other team members.
