Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

KARACHI:The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$ 18,618.3 million on May 15, 2020, said a weekly report issued by the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 12,129.3 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks : US$ 6,489.0 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves??? ?: US$ 18,618.3 million

During the week ending 15-May-2020, SBP reserves decreased by US$ 141 million to US$ 12,129.3 million. During the week, the external debt repayments of US$ 156.1 million were made, which explain the fall in the FX reserves.
