HYDERABAD: The Sindh Irrigation and Drainage Authority’s Chairman Qabool Muhammad Khatian has expressed hope that the problem of water shortage upstream of Kotri Barrage is expected to resolve soon.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he apprised that 63,800 cusecs water was released from the Sukkur barrage downstream earlier in the day.
According to him, the above-stated discharge of water was expected to reach Kotri barrage by July 14 after which the release of water in the barrage’s 4 canals would also be enhanced.
He informed that sufficient water would be available in the barrage during the next 2 months which would help the authorities deal with the problems of shortage and rotation for irrigation purposes.
