LAHORE:Atleast five people were killed while 977 others sustained injuries in 891 road accidents in Punjab during last 24 hours.
Out of the total injured, 567 were seriously injured shifted to different hospitals, whereas, 410 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site by rescue medical teams, according to a spokesman for Rescue 1122.
The analysis showed that 395 drivers, 18 juvenile drivers, 159 pedestrians and 428 passengers were among the victims of these road crashes.
The statistics showed that 245 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 250 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 72 in Faisalabad with 83 victims and Gujranwala at third with 54 accidents and 59 victims.
As many as, 668 motorcycles, 128 rickshaws, 78 cars, 49 vans, 14 buses, 24 trucks and 112 other vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the accidents.
