LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Friday handed over an accused involved in an acid attack case to Defence A Police on 5-day physical remand.
Earlier, the police produced the accused – Azmat Ullah – before ATC-I Judge Mohammad Ilyas and submitted that the accused allegedly threw acid on his fiancee on refusal to marry him. The police requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused for investigation.
At this the court handed over the accused to police on 5-day physical remand and ordered to produce him again on expiry of the remand term.
On Sept 12, the accused threw acid on her fiancee while she was waiting for a bus at a stop near her workplace in defence area. The girl suffered burns on her face and body.
