Australian Professor visits UET

LAHORE: Prof James Trevelyan from University of Western Australia met the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid at UET here Wednesday.

Talking to the VC, Prof James said the engineering is quite challenging field and all the stakeholders related to this sector including academia, industry and other concerned departments must develop mutual lines of progress and prosperity by bringing innovation.

He said that the gap between academics and industrial engineers should be overcome through strong collaboration between research and development to cater down all sort of challenges. He said that different technologies of engineering have become interdependent to each other so universities must develop way of coordination with each related discipline to design vivid road map for attaining destination.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prof. James Trevelyan is launching a book on his ideas to become successful engineer.

UET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid talked that UET is practically revising all curricula upto the mark to channelize the efforts of learners, practitioners, mentors and industry with the emergence of innovated skills and practices. He briefed about the external and internal linkages of UET to exchange the ideas, resources and approaches by signing various MoUs.

Dr.Waqar Director KICS also briefed about the working of UET at energy sectors and other projects. At this occasion, Dean Dr. Shahid Rafique, Dr. Fiaz Shah, Dr. Nasir Hayat, Dr.Neelum Naz and PRO Adnan Khaliq Bhatti were present.
