DOPCs to work proactively to settle issues of expats

LAHORE:Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti has said that the innovative step of establishing OPC has been taken to secure the rights of Overseas Pakistanis.

He was presiding over a meeting to review the pending complaints of Overseas Pakistanis in Faisalabad Division here on Tuesday.

Afzaal Bhatti asked the administration of Faisalabad Division to expedite the resolution mechanism of complaints relating to Overseas Pakistanis and a comprehensive strategy be adopted for early resolution of the issues of expatriates.

He said that District Overseas Pakistanis Committees (DOPCs) of the entire Division should pro-actively work so that the grievances of the Overseas Pakistanis could be solved amicably.

On the occasion, Commissioner Faisalabad Division, Momin Agha said that maximum support was being extended to resolve the issues faced by Overseas Pakistanis. He directed the civil and police administration to give priority to the issues of the Overseas Pakistanis and proceedings regarding resolution of complaints be properly uploaded on web complaints portal of OPC.

During meeting, certain complaints of overseas Pakistanis were discussed in detail and Commissioner OPC and Commissioner Faisalabad Division issued necessary directions in this regard.

The Additional DG OPC, DIG Agha Yousaf, RPO Bilal Siddik Kamyana, DCs, DPOs of Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh districts and Chairpersons of DOPCs attended the meeting.
