LAHORE: Repair and renovation work is being carried out at the Gadaffi stadium to give the arena a new look for the final of the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on March 5.
After dusting and washing of plastic chairs in various enclosures of the stadium the stadium wears a fresh look.
“We are carrying out minor repair renovation work at different parts of the stadium and with the completion of the work the stadium will wear a new look”, said a spokesman of Pakistan Cricket Board while talking to reporter on Wednesday.
He said the twenty six thousand spectators capacity stadium will be ready in a couple of days for staging the ultimate showdown of the PSL. “We are going to host a major cricket event after a long time and that is why we are revamping the stadium in all aspects”, he added. Walk through security gates are being installed at the entry gates of the stadium.
The Nishtar Park Sports Complex where famous Gadaffi stadium, World’s biggest hockey stadium with a capacity of eight thousand spectators and Punjab football stadium are located is also being given a new look with top of line cleanliness and patch work of the roads.
Director General, Sports Board Punjab, Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghumman is looking after all such tasks in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
“SBP is making special arrangements to facilitiate PCB for holding the final in a befitting manner, said Ghumman while talking to reporter.
He said it is a big honour for the country that it is going to host the final of the mega event and collective efforts are needed to make it a big success.
