MDCAT to be held on Oct 29 again

LAHORE:Lahore-22 The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) will be conducted again by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Sunday, Oct 29.

New standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the conduct of MDCAT have been developed and put in place.

All those candidates who have earlier appeared in the test held on August 20, will be eligible to appear in the re-test.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the UHS spokesperson said that no new registration would be required to appear in the MDCAT.

The candidates can sit the test with their previous roll numbers at the same centres, he said adding that the test would be conducted at 28 centres set up in 13 major cities of the province.

Meanwhile, the new acting vice chancellor of the university, Prof Dr Faisal Masud, said that all the staff of the university must not be blamed for the wrongdoings of one or two persons.

While addressing the university staff, he said that everyone should work hard to restore the confidence of the public in the institution. He said that his first priority would be to regain the honour and rebuild image of the institution.

Moreover, two officers of the university, who were under investigation, Deputy Controller of Examinations Saima Tabassum and Assistant Director Monitoring Jazib Hussain Bhatti, have been sent on forced leave.

The university security has been beefed up. All WiFi networks have been disabled, while new security cameras have been installed on campus.
