Naya Pakistan Scheme to help poor people get their own houses: CM

LAHORE:State Minister for Housing & Works Shabir Ali Qureshi called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at CM office, here on Saturday.

The chief minister said that the project of contracting low-cost housing units for low-income segment of society was a flagship project of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme (NPHS) would materialise the dream of low-income segment of having own home, he added.

He said that the project would generate a number of job opportunities as well. He said that Punjab would take lead in constructing low-cost housing project.

The CM said that positive and constructive politics were utmost necessary for progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Keeping in view the current circumstances, the opposition should avoid point-scoring, he added.

He said that the government was heading towards economic stability under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The wheel of Pakistani economy had started moving now, he added.

He said that stability in the national economy would soon solve people’s problems. He said that uplifting the living standard of poor people was Imran Khan’s vision.

He said that Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Programme, Panagaah and Insaf Health Card projects had been launched for welfare of the poor people. Former rulers remained busy in filling their coffers instead of taking any initiatives for betterment and welfare of people. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would continue its journey for change. Betterment in every department and institute would be visible, he added.
