NPT observes death anniversary of Khan Liaqat Ali Khan

LAHORE:Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) observed 66th death anniversary of Shaheed-e-Millat and first prime minister of Pakistan Khan Liaqat Ali Khan at the Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan, here on Monday.

In his special message, Mohammad Rafique Tarar said, Liaqat Ali Khan was among those workers of Pakistan Movement who sacrificed all his belongings to Pakistan. He spent from his own pockets to visit throughout India and organized Muslim League and led a simple life

despite belonging to a Nawab family, Tarar said and added, “He is a role model for all of us.”

General Secretary Liaqat Ali Khan Memorial Committee Karachi Mehfooz-un-Nabi said the role of international forces in the killing of Liaqat Ali Khan could not be ruled out, as he wanted the US to play due role in resolving Kashmir issue before putting any proposal to Pakistan. He said Russia had invited him in 1947 but he delayed it to ensure his presence in Pakistan on the very independence day after the death of Quaid-e-Azam. Nephew of the late prime minister Nawab Farhad Ali Khan described family history of Liaqat Ali Khan.

Vice Chairman NPT Dr. Rafique Ahmed said that the objective resolution passed by him had been admired then and even still now.

Other speakers also paid tributes to his services for the nation.
