LAHORE: Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Tariq Mahmood has said that instructions of the Punjab government with regard to eradication of dengue should be fully implemented so that clean and healthy atmosphere could be ensured in offices as well as in partnering schools.
Rain-water should be timely drained out. PEF is committed to ensure that clean and conducive atmosphere is arranged for the students in schools so that they could study in healthy atmosphere, he added.
He was presiding over weekly coordination meeting of program directors at his office on Wednesday. He said that Punjab government is fully committed to combat this deadly disease and foundation is steadfastly abiding by the instructions of the government. Partner schools are repeatedly instructed about adopting anti-dengue measures in their institutions.
The meeting reviewed the expansion timelines of different free education programs and observed that regular expansions have helped to ensure access to education by the needy students. It is satisfying that total number of PEF beneficiaries has risen to more than two million with 45 percent girls.Tariq Mahmood further said that PEF is playing an important role in achieving the goals of ‘Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab’ as 100 percent enrolment is planned by the year 2018.
This access to education will definitely help the needy communities to improve their quality of life. On the other hand, information and communication technologies have been a great help to smoothly run and expand the organizational systems.Different program directors briefed the meeting about their program’s performance.
