LAHORE:The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has marked World Food Day under the theme “End Hunger, Improve Nutrition, Food Safety and Food Security”, here on Monday.
A ceremony was arranged by Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in collaboration with Punjab Food Department which was attended by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor ul Amin Mengal vowed to make Adulteration Free Healthier Punjab in next few years and highlighted several food issues during his speech.
The DG said that awareness and education can play a key role in addressing food issues, adding that it can also help create public support for conservation of Food resources.
He said it is not possible to check all milk shops and milk vehicles on entry and exit points, but the PFA evolved law to deal such issues in this regard.
He further said that PFA is not only taking action on milk, carbonated drinks, oil and ghee issues but the department has also taken strict action against those edible processors which are selling their food products by disseminating misleading information.
