LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Punjab President Senator Ejaz Chaudhry has said that the decision of the Cabinet not to import sugar and cotton from India is reflective of national aspirations.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has always made decisions in the national interest. He said that the PTI government never compromised on national interests and it would continue its policies in the best of interest of the country. He said that India should also give up its stubbornness and resolve the Kashmir issue immediately for peace in the region. He said that the entire Pakistani nation stands with the oppressed Kashmiris.
Ejaz Chaudhry said that the previous governments always gave priority to personal interests over national interest. The role played by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) governments in the past was known to all. The PTI government, under the leadership of Prime Ministers Imran Khan, was determined to eradicate corruption from the country, he said and added that an indiscriminate action against the sugar mafia was a great example.
The PPP and the PML-N governments during their times encouraged and supported the corrupt mafia.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had laid his hands on the powerful mafia and noose was being tightened around them, he added.
