CTP set up pickets to control unessential vehicular movement

LAHORE: Five traffic DSPs, 18 inspectors and 54 traffic wardens have been deployed at 14 pickets established by City Traffic Police at entry and exit points in the provincial capital to control the unessential vehicular movement.

The city traffic police have taken this initiative to implement Section 144 imposed by the government to control coronavirus pandemic.

The CTP divisional officers would supervise the traffic arrangements during the lockdown at pickets on Old Ravi Bridge, New Ravi Bridge, Mehmood Booti Road Sialkot Interchange, Saggiyan Bridge, Ravi Bridge, Babu Sabu, Thokkar Niaz Baig, LOS Check Point, Jinnah Terminal, Mohafiz Town, Bhoobtiyan, Shahkam Chowk, Pace Society near Qazalbash Chowk, Peco Road Flyover and Gajju Matta.

CTO Hammad Abid said that citizen’s unessential travelling was kept controlled by barricading routes, adding that people should follow government’s directives for avoiding any inconvenience.
