Seven people die, two hurt as dumper truck hits house

QUETTA: At least seven people including children of the same family died and two other sustained injuries when a dumper truck hit their house at Double Road area of provincial capital on late Monday night.

According to police sources, the victims were sleeping at their mud house when a laden dumper truck hit the house resulting in roof collapse. As a result, seven people including children died on the spot and two other suffered wounds.

After the incident, local rescue team pulled out the bodies and the injured from the debris.

The bodies and injured were rushed to civil hospital where the bodies were identified as Gull Shair (40), Faiz Mohammad (25), Zia-ur-Rehman, Robina (12), Nadia (9), Shabira (8), and Zareena (5).

The bodies were handed over to the heirs after completion of legal formalities.

Further investigation was underway.

Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri expressed sorrow and grief over the victims and ordered the health deportment to immediately provide medical facilities to injured people.
