Step afoot for improving gas pressures in Balochitan: GM, SSGCL Madani

QUETTA: General Manager Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL) Madani Siddiqi Wednesday said steps afoot to improve gas pressures in respective areas of Balochistan while complains are being received regarding low gas pressures.

Talking to reporter, he said there is no shortage of gas in Quetta while low gas pressures were reported in some areas of the city due to increasing of population, saying that in this regard, efforts were underway to resolve low gas pressures according to receiving complains of citizens in the areas in winter season.

Replying to a question, he said Kalat and Mastung gas supply pipeline has been separated from Quetta in order to resolve issues of public regarding gas in province. “Now we do not have a shortage of gas but Balochistan had faced low gas pressure problems in last year”, he said and adding that now same matter was resolved for ensuring gas supply with pressures to their consumers in respective areas of Balochistan.

Madani Siddiq claimed that we have 1080 million cubic meter (MCM) gas for this winter in Balochistan.

Officials also urged public to pay their dues bill for betterment of the department.

Replying to another questions, he said SSGCL’s Managing Director has recently briefed to Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri in detail during meeting regarding positive measures were taking to address gas related problems in Balochistan for providing relief to public in winter season.
