Retailer arrested over BISP corruption


Sargodha: Assistant Commissioner Syed Asad Abbas Shirazi on Saturday led a successful raid at 49-Tail in Sargodha, arresting a corrupt retailer involved in illegally deducting money from deserving women under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).



According to the Assistant Commissioner, retailer Taswar Abbas were unlawfully charging each beneficiary Rs1500, depriving them of their entitled financial aid. Several women reported being exploited, prompting immediate action by the administration. During the raid, dozens of women were reimbursed on the spot, and the retailer was arrested.



AC Syed Asad Shirazi vowed strict action against the tout mafia and all individuals involved in such fraudulent practices. He said that the devices used by dishonest retailers would be deactivated to prevent future misuse.



‘Those who rob the poor of their rightful aid will not be spared,’ he emphasized.



The AC reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the rights of BISP beneficiaries and ensuring the transparent distribution of government support.
