Sanitation workers honored


Gujrat: In recognition of their exemplary performance during the Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness campaign, the district administration of Gujrat organized a special ceremony to honor sanitation workers, supervisors, and municipal officers with appreciation shields, medals, and cash rewards.



The event was held under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Suthra Punjab” initiative.



The campaign ensured timely disposal of sacrificial animal waste, washing of urban areas, and water spraying operations across the district. Member of the Provincial Assembly Khalid Asghar Ghural, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khizar Hayat Bhatti, Chairman of the Gujrat Waste Management Authority Ali Abrar Jora, Assistant Commissioner Bilal Zubair, and chief officers of the municipal corporation and committees participated in the ceremony. They distributed awards to workers from Gujarat and Kharian, commending their tireless efforts over the three days of Eid.



Officers said the success of the operation was the result of a coordinated strategy and the hard work of the sanitation staff. Officials also announced that special incentives would be provided to top-performing sanitary supervisors, as per the directives of the Chief Minister. The dignitaries praised the collective effort of all departments, expressing confidence that such dedication would make Gujrat a model district in Punjab.
