23 blind cricketres to be shortlisted for WC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) will shortlist 23 players on Thursday for the Fifth Edition of World Cup Cricket of the Blind (ODI format) scheduled to be held in January 2018.

Talking to reporter, PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah said the selection committee headed by Syed Mohammad Salman Tariq Bokhari and members including Masood Jan and Ibrar Shah will shortlist the players.

“The training camp of Pakistan blind cricket team probables was underway at Okara under supervision of Pakistan team head coach Abdul Razzaq from September 9 to 15 in which 34 players took part,” he said.

He said 23 players would be shortlisted from these 34 players to finalize the World Cup squad.

“The selection committee is monitoring the upcoming National Blind Cricket events and best performing players would be considered for selection,” he said and added from 23 players the final squad consisting of 17 players would be named.
