Naushahro feroze: Three people were killed in a road accident in the Kandiaro area of Naushahro Feroze district of Sindh, on Thursday, according to police quoted by tv channels.

Initial reports said, a rashly driven passenger coach collided with a motorcycle passing through the area, killing all three riders on the spot.

Rescue team and police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital for legal formalities. The driver of the passenger coach fled the scene immediately after the incident. Police have launched a search operation to arrest the driver.

Madina munawara: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday arrived in Madina Munawara, where he paid his respects at Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH) and offered prayers.

During his visit, the deputy prime minister prayed for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Pakistan and the well-being of the Muslim Ummah.

He also visited Jabal Uhud, where he paid his respects at the resting place of Hazrat Ameer Hamza (RA) and offered prayers for all martyrs of the Battle of Uhud.

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (r) Nadeem Nasir on Thursday reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority(PSPA) under the Punjab Development Programme.

Chairing a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, he directed the authorities concerned to complete all projects within the stipulated time frame while ensuring quality standards.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Planning), the Deputy Director Development, the Managing Director WASA, and officers of the relevant departments.

Managing Director WASA briefed the meeting on ongoing and upcoming projects, saying work was underway to replace 108 old water supply lines and lay 38 kilometres of new pipelines across the city. He said the project to install 87 kilometres of new sewerage lines was nearing completion, while work on the sewerage line on Jamia Masjid Road was progressing rapidly.

Officials of the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority informed the meeting that Rawalpindi had 252 government-owned and 246 privately operated filtration plants. They said rehabilitation of 39 non-functional filtration plants was in its final stages and the facilities would soon be made operational.

The DC directed WASA to install protective covers on sewer manholes exposed to increased pressure during the monsoon to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.

He also instructed the departments concerned to complete filtration plants and other development projects on schedule so that citizens could benefit from improved water supply and drainage services without delay.

Peshawar: A major terror plot was foiled in the provincial capital, Peshawar on Thursday after the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused explosives, including an IED, explosive materials and hand grenades.

According to police, a Suzuki pickup truck parked at Milad Chowk was found carrying hand grenades and other explosive materials.

The BDS took the vehicle into custody and safely neutralized all the explosives, preventing a potential terrorist attack.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the ownership of the vehicle and identify those responsible.

Kohat: In accordance with the District Service Delivery Agenda of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Deputy Commissioner Kohat Nawaz Wazir has launched a series of field inspections and public outreach initiatives aimed at improving governance, public service delivery, and healthcare services across the district.

The administration conducted surprise visits to the Civil Veterinary Hospitals in Lachi, Bilitang, and Gambat. During the inspection, they reviewed various departments of the veterinary facilities, checked attendance registers, verified the availability of essential medicines, and evaluated overall cleanliness and public service quality.

The team directed the hospital staff to ensure the timely provision of quality veterinary services, maintain strict hygiene standards, and strictly adhere to official working hours to facilitate the local livestock owners.

In a separate activity, the DC personally visited the under-construction Tehsil Office building in Gambat to inspect the ongoing development work. The DC thoroughly reviewed the pace of construction and evaluated the quality of building materials being used. Instructing the relevant execution authorities, DC Wazir emphasized ensuring high construction standards, adherence to specified building codes, and timely completion of the project without compromising quality.

Continuing the public facilitation campaign, Nawaz Wazir also chaired a public Revenue Durbar at the Service Delivery Center in Gambat to directly address citizens’ land and revenue-related grievances.
