Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack by Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists on a police check post in Ziarat.

In a statement, the prime minister paid tribute to the police personnel, including SHOs, who were martyred in the attack.

He prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks in Jannah and for patience and strength for their bereaved families.

The prime minister also commended the security forces for killing 15 terrorists during a clearance operation.

The prime minister said that the attack by Fitna al-Khawarij once again demonstrated that the group was an enemy of the people’s prosperity and of peace and development in Balochistan.

He emphasized that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The prime minister also reaffirmed the government’s resolve not to allow anyone to undermine peace in the province.

“The war against terrorists will continue until the complete elimination of these enemies of peace,” he said.

Islamabad: The prices of gold witnessed a decline in the local market on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold per tola decreasing by Rs2,500 to settle at Rs434,936, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold fell by Rs2,143 to Rs372,887, while the price of 10 grams of 22-karat gold declined by Rs1,965 to Rs341,825.

In the international market, the price of gold dropped by $25 to settle at $4,125 per ounce.

Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola decreased by Rs120 to Rs6,559, while the price of 10 grams of silver went down by Rs103 to Rs5,623.

The price of silver in the international market also declined by $1.20 to $60.80 per ounce, the association reported.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on police personnel in Ziarat, describing the incident as deeply tragic and reprehensible.

In a statement posted on X, the minister paid tribute to the police personnel who embraced martyrdom while performing their duty.

“Our brave sons of the soil laid down their lives in the line of duty. The martyrs have set a remarkable example of courage, sacrifice, and dedication,” he said.

Dr Tariq said the sacrifices of the martyrs would never go in vain, adding that the nation would always remember the courage, loyalty, and commitment of its heroes.

He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Expressing sympathy with the bereaved families, the minister prayed that Allah Almighty grant the martyrs the highest ranks in the hereafter and bless their families with patience and strength to bear the loss.

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday strongly condemned attack by Fitna al-Khawarij on a police check post in Ziarat.

The acting president, in a statement issued by the presidency, said that the sacrifices of the martyred police officers and personnel will always be remembered. He said the entire nation was united against terrorism.

He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyred in Jannah and patience and strength for their bereaved families.

He also prayed for early recovery of those injured in the attack.

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has granted a final opportunity to lawyers representing PTI Founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to present arguments in their appeals against convictions in the £190 million case, warning that no further adjournments will be allowed.

In a written order issued by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, the court said it would decide the appeals on the available record after hearing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) if the appellants’ counsel failed to advance arguments at the next hearing.

The bench accepted a request for adjournment based on an undertaking by senior lawyer Latif Khosa, whose power of attorney on behalf of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi is already on record.

According to the order, Khosa gave a clear undertaking that he would not seek any further adjournment and would present arguments on the appeals at the next hearing.

The court said the case was being adjourned solely on the basis of that undertaking, emphasizing that this was the final opportunity being granted to the appellants.

“The court makes it clear that if arguments are not advanced at the next hearing, no further adjournment will be granted, and the appeals will be decided after hearing NAB on the basis of the available record,” the order stated.

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the Ziarat area, describing the assailants as Indian-sponsored militants and reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to defeat every attempt to undermine peace and stability.

In a statement issued after the attack, the interior minister paid glowing tribute to the nine police personnel who embraced martyrdom while defending the country. He expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families, praying that they be granted strength and patience to bear their loss.

Naqvi said the fallen officers had made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of peace and national security, adding that such martyrs were “the pride of the nation” whose unparalleled sacrifices could never be forgotten. He stressed that their courage and commitment would remain a lasting source of inspiration.

The interior minister also commended the police for their swift and determined response, praising security personnel for eliminating 15 Indian-sponsored terrorists during the operation. He said the officers had foiled the terrorists’ nefarious designs by laying down their lives in the line of duty, preventing a greater threat to public safety.

Naqvi lauded the police force for bringing the attackers to what he described as their “deserved and exemplary end,” saying the successful operation reflected the professionalism and resolve of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies.

Reaffirming the state’s commitment to combating terrorism, the interior minister said the nation and its security forces remained united and determined to thwart every conspiracy by Indian-sponsored terrorists aimed at sabotaging peace. He emphasized that such cowardly attacks would not weaken Pakistan’s resolve or derail its efforts to maintain law and order.
