PSX witnesses bullish trend, gains 1,055 points

Islamabad: The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend on Monday, gaining 1,055.03 points, a positive change of 0.96 percent, closing at 111,377.97 points as compared to110,322.94 points on the last trading day.

A total of 415,160,931 shares were traded during the day as compared to 299,678,289 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 23.947 billion against Rs15.624 billion on the last trading day.

As many as 429 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 198 of them recorded gains and 172 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 59 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Bank of Punjab with 55,937,922 shares at Rs 10.28 per share, WorldCall Telecom with 34,117,748 shares at Rs.1.53 per share and Cnergyico PK with 31,378,841 shares at Rs.7.53 per share.

Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed a maximum increase of Rs787.49 per share closing at Rs23,232.28 whereas runner-up was Ghandhara Industries Limited with Rs 57.88 rise in its share price to close at Rs.636.70.

Bata Pakistan Limited witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs.44.24 per share price, closing at Rs 1,919.00, whereas the runner-up was Faisal Spinning Mills Limited with Rs 36.15 decline in its per share price to Rs.325.96.

The Pakistan Embassy in Tripoli immediately dispatched a team to Zawiya Hospital to assist the local authorities in identification of the deceased. The Embassy is also trying to ascertain further details of the Pakistani affectees. it added.

SECP grants license to first digital, online-only securities broker in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had granted license to Tamkeen Securities (Pvt) Ltd, Pakistan's first fully digital, online-only securities broker, marking a significant milestone.

The award of license marked a significant leap toward modernizing Pakistan's capital markets, enhancing accessibility, and democratizing investment opportunities for retail and institutional investors nationwide, said press release issued by SECP here Monday.

The newly licensed digital brokerage house would allow investors to open accounts and execute trades, completely eliminating the need for physical visits, paperwork, or traditional brokerage channels.

This initiative aligns with SECP's strategic vision to accelerate digital transformation, promote financial inclusion, and strengthen Pakistan's capital markets through innovation.

With this development, Pakistan joins the ranks of global markets that had successfully implemented fully digital trading platforms, catering to the evolving needs of tech-savvy investors and boosting retail participation in the stock market.

The fully digital onboarding transaction process, was expected to attract a wider range of investors, fostering greater stock market participation, enhancing liquidity, and strengthening investor confidence.

Developing Digital intermediaries was a focus area of the Commission. Prior to this, under digital framework an Asset Management Company and a life insurance companies have been licensed while an application for digital only non-life insurance is under process.

Digital intermediaries apart from lower cost structure had wider outreach and ability to had built in compliance mechanism, the press release said.

SECP remains committed to strengthening Pakistan's capital markets by introducing innovative, technology-driven solutions and ensuring robust regulatory frameworks that support a secure, transparent, and investor-friendly ecosystem, it added.

Gold prices surge by Rs 4,000 to Rs 303,000 per tola

Islamabad: The price of 24 karat per tola gold increased by Rs 4,000 and was sold at Rs 303,000 on Monday against its sale at Rs 299,000 on previous trading day, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association reported.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs 3,429 to Rs 259,773 from Rs 256,344 whereas that of 10 gram 22 karat went up to Rs 238,133 from Rs 234,990.

The prices of per tola silver increased by Rs 43 to Rs 3,373 whereas that of ten gram went up by Rs 37 to Rs 2,891.

The price of gold in the international market decreased by $42 to $2,903 from $2,861, the Association reported.
