Karachi: The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, Hasan Nourian called for unity among Islamic countries to resolve issues confronting the Muslim Ummah.

Addressing a seminar here at a local hotel on the anniversary of Iranian General Qasim Soleimani, Hassan Nourian said in Gaza more than 50000 innocent people were martyred in Israel's brutal attacks while 100000 people got injured.

He said that Iran and Pakistan have always supported the Palestinians.

Jamiat Ulama-e-Pakistan (JUP) chief Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Sheikh Shabir Hassan Mohsami, Ayatollah Ghulam Abbas, Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi, Maulana Azad Jameel, Asadullah Bhutto and others also addressed the seminar.

They paid rich tribute to the martyrs including General Soleimani and said Israel's attack against innocent Palestinians, are gross violation of the human rights.

They called for immediate ceasefire in Gaza and urged International community to play role in resolving Middle East crisis.

Karachi: Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid glowing tributes to Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his 97th birth anniversary, honoring him as a visionary leader whose legacy continues to illuminate the path toward a stronger and more equitable Pakistan.

The Chairman of PPP said, 'Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the architect of modern Pakistan, a statesman who dedicated his life to empowering the people and laying the foundations of a progressive and self-reliant nation. His struggle for democracy, human rights, and social justice remains an eternal source of inspiration for all.'

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the transformative reforms introduced by Quaid-e-Awam.

He said, "Bhutto empowered the working class and the marginalized class through revolutionary policies in labor rights, land reforms, education, and healthcare.

He believed that the strength of a nation lies in its people and worked tirelessly to uplift them,' he said.

He praised Shaheed Bhutto's contributions to Pakistan's industrial and educational development, including establishing Pakistan Steel Mills, Port Qasim, Heavy Mechanical Complex, Allama Iqbal Open University and scores of other big industrial, commercial and educational establishments across the country.

The Chairman of PPP pointed out that Pakistan's first elected government granted every citizen the right to hold passports, enabling millions to work abroad, especially in Gulf countries. This initiative uplifted countless families and bolstered the economy, with 35,000 workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone finding opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.'

He lauded Shaheed Bhutto's role in ensuring Pakistan's sovereignty and security.

'His nuclear policy guaranteed strategic independence, while the dignified release of 90,000 prisoners of war after 1971 showcased his remarkable statesmanship. The Constitution of 1973, a hallmark of his vision, laid the democratic foundation of our country and remains a beacon of unity and justice,' he added.

On foreign policy, he noted, 'The 1974 Islamic Summit united Muslim countries and elevated Pakistan's global influence. Shaheed Bhutto's advocacy for the oppressed and commitment to justice earned him respect worldwide.'

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaffirmed the PPP's unwavering commitment to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's ideals. 'As we honour his birth anniversary, we pledge to carry forward his mission of building a Pakistan defined by equality, dignity, and progress for all its citizens. His vision is our guiding light as we strive to fulfill his dream of a prosperous and inclusive nation,' he added.

Karachi: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, while paying tribute to the Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on his 96th birth anniversary, said that the Quaid-e-Awam, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, envisioned a prosperous, democratic, and sovereign Pakistan.

He provided the nation with its first unanimous constitution and initiated the nuclear program to ensure the country's invincible defense.

Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said that empowering workers, farmers, and backward classes and individuals is clear proof of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's selfless commitment to the people.

He rendered invaluable services to strengthen Pakistan on the global stage.

He stated that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari have steadfastly carried forward the legacy of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Bibi. Under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the PPP has continued to address the challenges facing the nation.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that President Asif Ali Zardari's efforts in strengthening the federation, empowering the provinces, and promoting consensus politics through the 18th Amendment are part of the legacy of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Every member of the Pakistan Peoples Party continues to strive for democracy, justice, and the rights of the people, guided by the ideals of the leader of the people, he added.

Karachi: The commissioning parade of the 122nd Midshipmen and 30th Short Service Commission (SSC) Course was held here Saturday at Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA), marking the graduation of 49 Midshipmen and 29 SSC Cadets.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Upon arrival, the Chief Guest was received by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, said a news release issued by Directorate General Public Relations (Pak Navy).

While addressing the parade, the Air Chief extended his felicitations to the newly commissioned officers and their parents on successful completion of their training.

He commended Pakistan Naval Academy for imparting high-quality training to cadets, including those from friendly countries.

He expressed the hope that these cadets from friendly nations will serve as ambassadors, strengthening bonds of friendship and mutual respect.

The Chief of the Air Staff emphasized the importance of staying updated with modern trends, technologies, and the evolving geo-strategic landscape. He advised the commissioning term that in today's high-tech and information-driven era, only knowledgeable leaders can effectively address emerging challenges.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Tasawar Iqbal, highlighted the key features of the academic and professional training provided to the cadets at the Academy.

Later, the Air Chief presented awards to the distinction holders. The prestigious Quaid-i-Azam Gold Medal was awarded to Lieutenant Muhammad Imad Ud Din PN for being the best all-round officer throughout training.

Midshipman Tennakoon M.L. Vimukthi from Sri Lanka won the coveted Sword of Honour. Midshipman Muhammad Shayan was awarded the Academy's Dirk. Officer Cadet Abdul Rehman received the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal. Officer Cadet Ali Jalil Ibrahim Sharif Shuhaib Al Shabani from Iraq was awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal. The Commandant Gold Medal was awarded to SSC Course Officer Cadet Sidra Saeed. The Proficiency Banner was claimed by the Fox'l Squadron.

Karachi: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, spearheaded a Performance Review Meeting attended by Additional Secretary MoMA, Umer Zafar Sheikh to assess the progress of key maritime organizations and Board Member. Trustees of the respective organization attended the meeting for their valuable input. These included the Port Qasim Authority (PQA), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC).

The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of the monthly performance metrics, tackling challenges and pinpointing areas ripe for improvement. Strategic discussions centered on amplifying efficiency, productivity and overall service delivery within the maritime sector.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to put into action the proposed recommendations and strategies designed to drive growth and progress in the maritime sector.

After the Performance Review meeting, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, chaired a Khuli Kachehri session, providing an open platform for employees of maritime organizations and industry stakeholders to voice their concerns, suggestions, and ideas.

This interactive forum enabled direct engagement with the Minister, fostering a collaborative environment to address grievances and enhance the maritime sector.

The Minister provided stakeholders with a reassuring commitment that their concerns would be duly recognized and their issues promptly addressed, ensuring a timely resolution to their matters.

"Khuli Kachehri" an open forum, was attended by representatives from various organizations under the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. Notable attendees included the Chairman of Port Qasim Authority (PQA), the Chairman of Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and Executive Directors of the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), along with team members from their respective maritime organizations were also present in Khuli kachehri.

Directives were issued to resolve the issues on a priority basis.

Karachi: The Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori on Saturday condemned an incident of firing on the convoy of the official vehicles in Bagan area of the lower Kurraam.

The Governor of Sindh instated on taking strict action against the involved accused.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons including Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud.

The Governor Tessori said that it is a conspiracy to thwart peace efforts. This conspiracy will never succeed, he said adding that all conspiracies will be thwarted with the cooperation of stakeholders.
