Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested fifteen terrorists, including a Fitna-ul Khawarij, during operations in different cities of Punjab.

The CTD spokesperson said that CTD had arrested fifteen terrorists during 143 intelligence-based operations in different cities of Punjab. The operations were carried out in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujrat, Attock, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Jhang, Mianwali, Chiniot and Attock.

The spokesperson said that a dangerous terrorist of Fitna-ul-Khawarij was arrested from Lahore. The terrorist belongs to North Waziristan. Explosives, an IED bomb, 6 detonators, 18 feet of safety fuse wire, inflammatory pamphlets and cash were recovered from the terrorists. The terrorists were identified as Mudassar Khan, Sajjad Ahmed, Ashiq, Ajmal Khan, Umair Iqbal, Muhammad Ijaz, Sohail Ahmed and Isa Khan etc.

Officials said that 556 suspects were arrested during 1498 combing operations this week, and 64,511 people were questioned in combing operations.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists wanted to spread fear and panic among the people by carrying out operations at different places. The CTD is pursuing the goal of a safe Punjab, and is determined to uproot the scourge of terrorism, he added.

Lahore: Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson and MPA Sarah Ahmad on Saturday attended the Joint CPA Asia and South-East Asia Regional Conference, a significant platform for fostering regional cooperation, inclusive growth, and sustainable development.

As part of the conference, she hosted a panel discussion on Climate Change and Sustainable Cities: Legislative Action for Clean Air and Resilient Urban Living, bringing together prominent parliamentarians, judiciary members, and environmental experts.

The panel discussion aimed to explore legislative strategies to combat climate change and address the growing challenges of air pollution and urban sustainability, particularly in regions affected by smog.

The panel discussion, hosted by Sarah Ahmad, featured Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, MPA Sardar Muhammad Awais Dreshak, MNA Munaza Hassan, Speaker of Malaysia Lau Weng San, and Speaker Azad Kashmir Assembly Ch. Latif Akbar. Discussions highlighted climate change, sustainable urban development, and legislative action for environmental protection. The panelists emphasized the urgent need for proactive measures and presented key legislative recommendations to ensure cleaner air and resilient urban living.

MPA Sarah Ahmad engaged with panelists, discussing effective policies and practical solutions for tackling environmental challenges. She described the conference as a historic opportunity to strengthen regional collaboration on sustainable development and environmental policies. She also expressed her appreciation to the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for his dedicated efforts in making this landmark event a reality. She acknowledged the strong support of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, whose leadership and commitment have been instrumental in the success of this conference. Sarah Ahmad indicated that Pakistan is included in the countries which affected by climate change. She appreciated the efforts of Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb in implementation of the chief minister’s anti-smog policies in Punjab.

The panel discussion concluded with concrete recommendations for enhancing environmental legislation and policy frameworks, reaffirming a shared commitment to sustainable urban growth and climate resilience.

Lahore: Dolphin Squad’s operations against kite flying, one-wheeling, and firing continued.

According to the Dolphin spokesperson, a total of 24 suspects were arrested from different areas of the provincial capital. One-wheelers were arrested from Defence, Mall Road, Jail Road, Band Road, Ferozepur Road, and other areas. Similarly, 5 suspects involved in kite flying and firing were arrested and kites, pistols, bullets, and magazines were recovered. According to SP Dolphin Shahmir, indiscriminate operations against kite flying, one-wheeling, and firing will continue.

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended her congratulations to cricket fans on the commencement of the tri-nation cricket series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, marking the return of international cricket to Pakistan after many years.

In her message, the CM conveyed her best wishes to the teams and congratulated Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of PCB, and their entire team for this significant achievement. ‘This is a victory of the government’s commitment to restoring playing fields across the country’ she remarked.

Lahore: As part of the grand Horse and Cattle Show 2025, a spectacular two-day dog show was organized at Jilani Park on Saturday, showcasing exceptional German Shepherd dogs from around the world.

The event, held to celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Lahore, drew participants from various countries, bringing together 20 teams and 120 beautifully trained German Shepherd dogs.

According to a spokesperson, the event was attended by notable figures, including Muhammad Tahir Toor, DG PHA, Brigadier Mazhar, Imran Hussain (President of the German Shepherd Club), Zahid Sindho (General Secretary of the German Shepherd Club), and Colonel K.M. Roy. Their presence underscored the importance of the show in promoting international dog-breeding standards and fostering a sense of community among dog enthusiasts.

Lahore’s citizens turned out in large numbers to witness the competition, which attracted women, children, and young people, along with foreign participants. The competition was officiated by Brent Weibert, a famous international match referee from Germany, and Faheem Asghar, Group Breedwarden, who served as the official umpire. Their expertise ensured that the event maintained high standards of fairness and accuracy.

Throughout the two-day event, the dogs were judged on various criteria, including obedience, agility, and conformation to breed standards. Medals, cups, and special gifts were awarded to the top-performing teams and individual dogs, celebrating their excellence and dedication to the sport.

The dog show at Jilani Park was a thrilling addition to the Horse and Cattle Show 2025, highlighting Lahore’s growing reputation as a hub for international sporting events and fostering greater appreciation for the art of dog breeding and training.

Lahore: Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the public has placed clear trust in the policies of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Addressing a public gathering at Gulshan-e-Ravi here on Saturday, he said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan has regained its lost position on the global stage.

Rana Mashhood said that critics who once claimed the PML-N had no future have now disappeared from the political landscape. He noted that the party’s resilience and the public’s continued support have proven such predictions wrong, reaffirming PML-N’s strong presence in national politics. He said that inflation had dropped from 40 percent to 4 percent, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is representing Muslims worldwide. He added that leaders from 41 countries visited Pakistan and assured their support for Pakistan’s decisions.

He recalled that when PML-N formed the government in 2008, they established good governance in Punjab through relentless efforts. Despite challenges, PML-N tackled the situation and worked to eradicate poverty.

He criticized the government that came to power in 2018, alleging that it followed Modi’s agenda and attacked state institutions. He recalled that when PML-N was fighting against terrorists, the opposition at that time staged protests. He also mentioned the tragic APS attack in 2014, accusing the then-government of fostering terrorism. He blamed them for bringing terrorism back to Pakistan and derailing the country by disqualifying Nawaz Sharif through false cases. He condemned the political victimization of leaders like Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, and Khawaja Saad Rafique, stating that had the 2018 elections not been rigged, Pakistan would not have faced the current challenges.

Rana Mashhood declared February 8 as a day of rebuilding and progress, crediting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for saving Pakistan from bankruptcy. He said, ‘February 8 marks a day of progress and development.’ He praised the sacrifices of the Pakistani people in paying taxes, which, according to him, have led to increased global investment in Pakistan. He claimed that inflation has dropped significantly and the economy is now stabilizing, leading to business growth. He asserted that the people of Pakistan have restored the mandate stolen in 2018 by supporting Shehbaz Sharif on February 8. He also lauded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for launching new development projects daily. He warned that Pakistan’s enemies have no place in the country anymore, commending the sacrifices of the armed forces. He declared that the armed forces plays a more significant role in ensuring security than political parties and vowed that anyone who questions the armed forces will be held accountable.
