Lahore:Two main suspects involved in double murder and blind murder have been arrested. The accused had killed his own sister and brother-in-law. SP Model Town Akhlaqullah Tarar said, in a press conference at his office here on Thursday, that the two main accused involved in the double murder and blind murder have been arrested. Kahna police traced the accused using modern technology and human intelligence and arrested them.

The SP Model Town said that the accused, Faraz, was taken into custody from Dhulki village. The accused had killed his brother-in-law and sister in the name of honor. The deceased Mahmood and the deceased Riffat had an arranged marriage two years ago.

He said that the accused ,Haris, involved in the blind murder was arrested from Rai Kalan, Kasur district. The accused had killed shopkeeper Syed Abid by shooting him in the head. The accused worked as an electrician and was fond of weapons. The accused killed him in the greed for a pistol lying in the shop and stole 7 pistols and bullets and fled. Seven 30-bore pistols and 400 bullets stolen from the accused have been recovered.

The accused have been handed over to the investigation for investigation.

Lahore:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has released another Rs 3.243 million for the treatment of employees and their families suffering from serious diseases.

While giving details, Punjab Police Spokesperson said that Rs 1.5 million was released for a cornea transplant to retired driver constable Asghar Ali, while Rs 1 million was given to Head Constable Sarfraz Ahmed for a kidney transplant. He further shared that Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ijaz was given Rs 200,000 for his treatment while ASI Muhammad Ramzan was given Rs 200,000. Similarly, constable Muhammad Irfan and Constable Sakhi Sarwar were given Rs 100,000 each for their treatment. Retired Private Secretary Shoukat Niaz, ASI Muhammad Bilal and Head Constable Muhammad Saeed were given a total of Rs 143,000 for their treatment.

The IGP, while approving the release of the fund after the scrutiny of the Medical Financial Assistance Committee, said that modern treatment facilities are also being provided to the employees under MoUs with various institution.

Lahore: Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Thursday suggested measures for revival of housing sector to prevent not only capital flight but also unlock a USD 100 billion investment potential.

PCJCCI office-bearers told media here that an early government response would pave the way for robust economic recovery and growth.

PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain said that construction and housing sector are backbone of Pakistan's economy. With 72 industrial sectors directly linked to this industry, they generate immense employment opportunities and drive economic growth.

PCJCCI Senior Vice President Brig. (Retd) Mansoor Saeed Sheikh said that in order to rejuvenate and unlock the full potential of Pakistan's housing sector, the government should reduce withholding tax on property transactions to one percent, and declare the first property purchase tax-free to promote home ownership. Also, he added, the government should eliminate three percent FED (Federal Excise Duty), which is legally unenforceable in provinces and causes an unnecessary burden on the sector.

Zafar Iqbal, Vice President PCJCCI, said that 'deemed income' concept has significantly hindered growth in the housing sector and also requires immediate removal. He said the government should launch a 10-year fixed-rate mortgage product tied to the 10-year PIB bond yield to make home ownership more affordable.

Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI, added that the government should encourage banks to classify construction as a priority sector, which would stimulate broader economic development.

The CM expressed profound sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Usama Leghari's mother. She expressed her condolences with Usama Leghari and other family members. She also offered Fateha for the departed soul.

'The relationship of a mother is unique and it is extremely painful to bear an irreparable loss of a mother's death. I have also gone through the same amount of pain and agony when my mother passed away. I pray that may Allah Almighty protect all the mothers' she said.

Lahore:Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of a husband, wife and two children in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Kacha Khuh, Khanewal.

She expressed heartfelt sympathies and condolence with the bereaved family.
