Court sends Swati to jail on judicial remand

Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:A lower court of Islamabad on Thursday sent PTI’s Leader Azam Khan Swati to jail on judicial remand in controversial tweet case.

Judicial Magistrate Shabbir Bhatti announced the decision on the request of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The FIA prosecutor adopted the stance that his department had concluded investigation from Swati and there was no need of his further physical remand.

The FIA adopted the stance that there was no need of further investigation into the matter hence the accused should be remanded.

The court accepted the request of FIA and sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.

Previously, the court had granted a four-day physical remand of the accused which was about to expire on December 3. However, the FIA filed the application for judicial remand of the accused before end of the remand time.
