MULTAN: Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) South Punjab Capt (r) Zaffar Iqbal Awan directed all regional police officers to launch a comprehensive crackdown against proclaimed offenders (POs) and court absconders (CAs).
In a directive issued here on Thursday, the additional IGP said that police striving hard to make South Punjab crime free by launching crackdowns against proclaimed offenders, court absconders and other criminals.
He directed regional police officers to ensure strict action against criminals in their respective areas and also asked them for action against facilitators of the criminals.
The additional IGP said that the officials involved in corruption and misuse of power would not be tolerated at any cost adding that there was no space for such officials in the department. He said that the crackdown would continue till September 31.
He disclosed that during the crackdown in last 24 hours, the police have apprehended 102 proclaimed offenders and 60 court absconders across the South Punjab.
