KARACHI:The State Bank of Pakistan directed all banks on Tuesday to extend their banking hours till 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on December 30, 31st to facilitate the collection of Government duties and taxes.
The field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation and authorized branches of National Bank of Pakistan will observe extended banking hours till 8:00 P.M. on Dec. 30 and till 10:00 P.M. Dec. 31, 2021, said the press release.
Accordingly, NIFT has been advised to arrange a special clearing at 8:00 P.M. on Dec. 31, 2021 (Friday) for same day clearing of payment instruments, said State Bank of Pakistan release on Tuesday.
Hence, all banks have been advised to keep their concerned branches open on Dec. 31, 2021 (Friday) till such time that is necessary to facilitate the special clearing for Government transactions by National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (Pvt) Limited.
