KHANEWAL: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Agha Zaheer Abbas Sherazi, on Wednesday, directed price control magistrates to inspect kilns and take strict action against owners involved in selling bricks on high rates.
Responding to complaints received through PM’s Citizen Portal about profiteering on bricks in district Khanewal, Deputy Commissioner said that no one would be allowed to earn undue profit on sale of bricks. He directed price control magistrates to ensure sale of bricks on recommended prices only. He also instructed them to impose heavy fine on violators. Sherazi said that the government had already decided size, quality and prices of bricks to facilitate public.
He said that the government had fixed Rs 6300 against 1000 bricks.
The deputy commissioner directed officials to inspect kilns and bricks sale points on daily basis and submit report about action taken against the profiteers.
