DC praises local exporters

SIALKOT: Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq said on Wednesday that local exporters had set a unique example of self help by developing a mega project of Sialkot International Airport. He said the government had been playing a significant role in resolving the problems of exporters. He said this while talking to a delegation led by Chairman Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) Masood Akhtar Khawaja (SI). The delegation included SIAL Vice Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Sarfraz Bhatti, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Qaiser Iqbal Baryar, Convener Land Acquisition Committee Mian Naeem Javed, Chief Executive Officer Amjad Ali Toor and Public Relations Advisor SIAL Abdul Shakoor Mirza. The DC said that he was well aware of the valuable services of the SIAL administration to the success of Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL). Responding to the delegation’s request for land acquisition in view of airport security, he suggested for further clarification of the position by airport management so that a case could be effectively prepared. He also assured that the matter would soon be resolved. SIAL Chairman Masood Akhtar Khawaja invited Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq to visit Sialkot Airport which he gladly accepted.
