PESHAWAR: District administration Peshawar and Industries Department Tuesday sealed 21 crush plants during a crackdown on illegal crushing plants in the district.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AACs), Mohammad Azhar Khan and Kashif Jan along with Assistant Director, Industries Department inspected crush plants at Deha Bahadar locality while AAC Tariq Hussain at Badhber locality.
During the inspection, the officers of the district administration collectively sealed 21 crush plants over lack of registration, increase in environmental pollution, and violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the departments of environment and industries.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Captain (Retd) Khalid Mahmood has said that the sealed crush plants caused increase in the environmental pollution and were being operated without registration in violation of the SOPs of the concerned departments.
