The ECP would announce the schedule of LG elections in Sindh after completion of delimitation process.

Meanwhile, the ECP has announced starting delimitation of constituencies for local government elections in Balochistan from December 6, even if the provincial government failed to comply with the commission’s directions.

The two member bench of ECP in its verdict on LG elections in Balochistan directed

Chief Secretary Balochistan and the Secretary Local Government to to provide relevant data for delimitation of constituencies for local government elections in the province within next fortnight and in case of failure the ECP would start delimitation exercise from December 6.

The commission was of the view that the tenure of LG has already expired on Jan 27, 2019 and delaying the holding of new elections was violation of constitution.
