PESHAWAR: FF Steel and KP Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) signed a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU) for training of market oriented manpower specialized in the steel sector.
The agreement was signed during a certificate distribution ceremony of a steel training programme jointly managed by a public-private consortium at FF Steel head office in Peshawar here on Wednesday.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister KP on Industries, Commerce & Technical Education, Abdul Karim Khan was the chief Guest of the ceremony.
On this occasion, 30 students selected through a rigorous testing process were enrolled in the six month training process involving seven days of practical training, followed by seven days of theoretical work during the course tenure. Six successful students were offered jobs at FF Steel.
FF Steel, which is the fastest growing steel organization in Pakistan intends to open a new plant in Karachi, followed by diversification towards exploring copper export business and steel re-bars export to Central Asian States.
The company will hold its IPO in January 2022 which will further open its avenues towards diversification in new areas.
Addressing the ceremony, Special Assistant to KP CM on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Abdul Karim Khan said that the training programme will help FF Steel in developing skilled labor for its upcoming projects and acts as a role model for other organizations to follow.
Similarly, the Secretary Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Humayun Khan said that such projects are a perfect example of public private consortium and how effective results can be derived if organizations collaborate for a mutual cause.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), FF Steel, Zarak. K. Khattak said that
this pilot project was a successful for the organization in one of its goals of community development.
He quoted that they will launch this CSR initiative in other provinces of the country creating opportunities for the young generation as well as developing a skilled workforce that will contribute towards the economy.
