LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Inam Ghani on Tuesday said the purpose of starting internship
of university students in police offices was to provide practical learning opportunities to the students pursuing higher education so in this regard MOUs had been signed to continue internship programmes in future as well.
He said that students who had completed the internship sessions in various branches of the Central Police
Office including establishment, legal, R&D, DPR, complaint cell and others have pointed out the issues for improving the working. He said that these students would go to the society as police ambassadors and would improve the relations between the people and the police.
He expressed these views while addressing the students at the closing ceremony of Punjab Police Internship Programme at Central Police Office here.
During the ceremony, the students also presented their reports of research work made during the internship
in the police offices and made suggestions for upgrading the working system and improving service delivery
based on their observations.
The fourteen students who completed the internship were from Quaid-e-Azam University, LUMS and Lahore
School of Economics, in which, IG Punjab also distributed certificates.
