ISLAMABAD: Minister for State on Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has initiated unprecedented steps to address environmental challenges and make the country clean and green.
Talking to a private news channel, she said the incumbent government was making efforts to give the next generations a better Pakistan.
She said the entire world was appreciating government’s billion tree initiatives, ban on plastic bags, solid waste management and many other steps taking for the protection of environment.
The state minister expressed concerns, “Our climate was changing rapidly due to melting of glaciers, smog in upper Punjab, trend of urbanization and cutting trees with fast pace”.
She urged people to play their due role to plant a tree to overcome environmental challenges.
