PESHAWAR:A Head Constable of police embraced martyrdom when an unknown man hurled a hand-grenade on police vehicle near Taj Market here on Friday.
Police said, action was underway against violation of SOPs in Karkhano Market, on the outskirts of the district and some of the violators were being shifted to police vehicle when an unknown man hurled a hand-grenade on police vehicle.
As a result of the attack a police Head Constable named Abne Ameen was badly injured and rushed to Hayatabad Medical Complex where doctors pronounced him as dead.
Soon after the incident heavy contingent of police reached on the site and after cordoning off the area, started a search operation to nab the attacker.
Police has also provided a first-aid to three of the minor injured on the scene.
