LAHORE: A delegation of Health Department Tuesday called on Punjab Minister for Environmental Protection Muhammad Rizwan here at his office.
The delegation presented a report to the minister highlighting details of smog and related issues.
The delegation also apprised the minister that the seasonal diseases were normal, adding that March might witness more diseases as the weather would change in that month.
The minister said that some elements were using smog as a cover to spread false news among people that smog was causing a dangerous increase in diseases.
He said that people need to understand that dangerous diseases had not been increased due to smog but people were worried due to dry weather.
The minister asked the delegation to play its role in conveying the correct message to the people as the health department can take the people into confidence about the current situation.
