ISLAMABAD: M. Huzaifa Khan claimed titles in under 18 and under 16 of the 2nd PTF Development Series Junior National Ranking Tennis tournament-2021 at the PTF Complex, Islamabad on Sunday.
Huzaifa subdued Sami Zeb in a closely-contested final to claim boys’ singles under 18 title. He won the first set 7-5, but lost the second set 4-6. The third set was a seesaw battle, however, Huzaifa finally took it 7-6(4) to emerge victorious.
In boys’ singles under 16 finals, Huzaifa Khan tamed Uzair Khan 6-0, 6-3 to claim the crown.
Meanwhile, in the girls’ singles under 16 final, Amna Ali Qayyum overcame Sheeza Sajid 6-2, 7-6(5) to win the title. Earlier, on Saturday Amna had defeated the same opponent in the girls’ singles under 18 final.
In boys/girls singles 12 & under final, Hamza Roman overcame Amir Mazari 4-1, 4-2, while in boys/girls’ singles 10 & under final, Abdur Rehman beat M. Shayan Afridi 2-4, 4-2, 5-3.
