FAISALABAD:An industry-academia linkage must be promoted to utilize academic and research activities of universities for the resolution of industrial problems to give a quantum jump to the industrial growth.
This was said by Atif Munir Sheikh, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), while addressing a function after inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Jhang.
He said growth was directly linked with the promotion of knowledge-based economy and in this
connection, all concerned institutes must make concerted, organized and comprehensive efforts.
He termed the MoU between the FCCI and Jhang University a new milestone and assured that
it would not be treated as just a piece of paper but would be practically utilized for immediate
needs of the current age.
On this occasion, Professor Dr Shahid Munir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jhang, hoped that
interested industrialists could also benefit from research efforts of talented students. He said the FCCI
should also invite faculty and students of the university to functions so that they could know about the
overall working of this premier chamber in addition to interacting with leading business
entrepreneurs.
