ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) was held under the chairmanship of Senator Mian Raza Rabbani here on Wednesday.
Senators Zarqa Suharwardy Taimur, Gurdeep Singh, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Dr Sikandar Mandhro, Jam Mahtab Hussain Dahar and Senator Rana Maqbool Ahmed also attended the meeting.
The Federal Minister for IPC Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Director General Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Col (R) Muhammad Asif Zaman and officials of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ministry were also present in the meeting.
The committee was briefed about the IPC ministry while it was decided to take separate briefings on PCB and PSB.
The Chairman also inquired about the affairs of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and FIFA. The IPC minister informed the chairman that each federation had different issues as there were huge mafias in sports. “If a sports policy is made then the condition of sports in the country will improve and we are working in this regard, ” she said.
Senator Rana Maqbool in the meeting, said that was the need to setup an institution to end sports disputes.
