BAHAWALPUR:The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Sustainable Social Development Organization inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate each other in organizing training workshops for the capacity building and enhancement of conceptual clarity for students.
These training would help students seeking career-making advice, peace, sustainable development, transparency and right to information, development communication, print, public relations, and digitization.
The MoU was signed by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor IUB Prof. Dr Naveed Akhtar, Director Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC) Shahid Durrani and Director Operations Sustainable Social Development Organization Shahid Khan Jatoi in Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat.
On this occasion, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor said that the university was flourishing in various sectors and the establishing of the CCPC was being witnessed as a remarkable step by the Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr Athar Mahboob for placement of the graduates of the IUB in different national and multi-national organizations.
The Director CCPC briefed the Pro-Vice-Chancellor that both organizations shall facilitate each other in understanding academic awareness-raising programs including seminars, lectures, orientation sessions, and conferences.
He further said that both organizations shall provide technical assistance and cooperation, jointly to organize advocacy and awareness-raising events in the university, guidance on literature review and research areas beneficial for both organizations.
Director of Sustainable Social Development Organization Shahid Jatoi shared that his organization shall also organize and facilitate internship programs for the students of IUB on a yearly basis and award certificates to the students who will avail and complete internship opportunities in the organization.
The office-bearers of both organizations also expressed to enhance their cooperation in providing opportunities for students and employees to groom and harness their practical skills necessary for positive outcomes in research and development areas.
