‘Kashmir Black Day’ observed

FAISALABAD: The ‘Kashmir Black Day’ was observed to condemn India’s aggression and violence in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K) here on Wednesday.

In this regard, protest rallies were staged in all the five Tehsils of the district including Tandlianwala, Samundri, Jarranwala, Chak Jhumra and Faisalabad.

The black flags were hoisted at public and private buildings, markets, main roads and public places to mark the ‘Black Day’ against Indian’s aggressions and atrocities in IIOJ&K.

A seminar was also held at Jinnah hall of district council under the aegis of district administration which was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad. Regional Police Officer Imran Mahmood, CPO Dr Muhammad Abid Khan, officers of various departments, staff, students and civil society participated in the seminar.

Addressing the seminar, the deputy commissioner said that there was an acute shortage of food and medicine in IIOJ&K and even the people were unable to offer prayers at Mosques.

It is a sheer violation of human rights to keep the Kashmiri people deprived from their fundamental right of self-determination, he said. He paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and said that the Pakistani nation always stand with them shoulder to shoulder in their struggle for freedom.

He said that October 27 was a black day in the history of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir when India illegally entered Kashmir and occupied the valley.

He said that the Pakistani nation could not keep silent over the Indian atrocities with the innocent Kashmiris and it would continue diplomatic and political support to them till their freedom.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the objective of observing the ‘Black Day’ was to highlight the Indian atrocities in Kashmir before the world. He demanded the United Nations to take immediate action on the Indian brutalities and atrocities in the IIOJ&K and stop blood shed.

RPO Imran Mahmood said that Kashmir was the integral part of Pakistan and the agenda of the independence of Pakistan could not be completed without the independence of Kashmir.

He said that the struggle of the Kashmiris had entered a decisive phase and the blood of the Kashmiri people would not go waste.

Later, a protest rally was taken out from District Council Chowk led by Deputy Commissioner, RPO and CPO.

The rally ended at Kutchery Bazar after passing Khaleeq Qureshi road and in front of Press Club.

The participants were carrying placards and banners in favour of the Kashmiri people. The participants also chanted slogans against India and in support of the Kashmir people.
