PESHAWAR: Kashmir Black Day was observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including seven merged tribal districts where people and Kashmiris staged big protest rallies to condemn annexation of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) by India on October 27, 1947.
From Khyber to Kohistan and DI Khan to South Waziristan, big protest rallies and walks were held in all 35 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including seven merged tribal districts where people from all walks of life including civil society, academicians, human rights activists, students, Government officials, and Kashmiris raised full-throated slogans against annexation of IIOJ&K seventy four-year ago by India.
They demanded UN, international powers and human rights organizations to put pressure on the fascist Modi Government to restore the special status of IIOJ&K and grant right of self-determination to over 10 million oppressed Kashmiris as promised to them by the world body.
In Peshawar, big protest demonstrations were held where participants holding banners and placards raised full throated slogans against India’s unending oppressions, war crimes and human rights abuses in the IIOJ&K.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan has led a big protest rally in provincial metropolis where participants raised full throated slogans of ‘Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan and fascist India go out of Kashmir.
Provincial Minister for Labour and Culture, Shaukat Yousafzai, members of provincial cabinet, advisers and special assistants, government officers and social figures besides civil society and Kashmiris were accompanied the Chief Minister KP in the protest rally.
The charged rally also chanted slogans in favour of right of self-determination for Kashmiri brethren and sisters besides strongly condemned an ending cruelties, barbarism and reign of terror unleashed by Indian occupational forces against the oppressed Kashmiris.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister while talking to reporters said October 27 was a black day in the history of Kashmir as on this day Indian occupational forces had started oppression and cruelties against peaceful Kashmiris that continued till to-date.
He said Kashmiris was victim of state terrorism of India for the past over seven decades and the fascist Modi regime broke all records of atrocities and human rights violations in a bid to deprive Kashmiris from their genuine right of self-determination.
The Chief Minister said Kashmiris were the worst victim of India’s state terrorism, oppression and lockdown after Modi’s regime had violated UN Security Council resolutions by revoking the special status of IIOJ&K on August 5, 2019.
Mahmood Khan expressed the resolve to continue political, diplomatic and moral support of the Kashmiris in their just and legitimate struggle for self-determination.
The CM said Kashmiris had faced India’s long oppression with immense courage and steadfastness and demanded of UN, world powers and human rights organizations to take serious notice of human rights abuses in IIOJ&K.
The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan had raised Kashmir issue on all international and diplomatic forums including UN General Assembly and informed the world’s about critical situation in the held Kashmir besides exposed India’s inhuman and unlawful actions.
He paid rich tributes to the courage and steadfastness of Kashmiris Muslims for standing up against India’s oppressions, adding Kashmiris’ sacrifices have infused a new spirit in freedom movement in IIOJ&K.
In his message on Kashmir Black Day, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman said despite all the atrocities unleashed by India against innocent and unarmed people in the held Kashmir, the Kashmiri people have not lost their morale and courage and their struggle for independence has further strengthened.
He said the ongoing atrocities against innocent Kashmiris including women and children in the Illegal Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir have humiliated democratic and human rights traditions.
“India is committing all sorts of atrocities and brutalities against Kashmiri people and even turned the occupied territory into a world’s largest prison where the oppressed Kashmiris have been confined to their homes and deprived of all basic amenities.”
The Governor deplored the role of world communities and international justice and human rights organizations for ignoring the blatant violation of human rights in the held valley.
By abolishing the special status of the occupied Kashmir, he said “India is strengthening its Hindu ideology and prolonging the hatred against Muslims by settling Hindus in the Occupied Kashmir valley, which is tantamount to depriving the Kashmiris of their right to self-determination and citizenship besides converting them into minorities.”
Shah Farman said no matter how many atrocities, human rights abuses and tactics India uses, it will never succeed in its nefarious designs of genocide of majority Muslim population and its brutal occupation of the occupied valley.
While assuring solidarity with oppressed Kashmiris on behalf of himself and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said the people of this province including tribal people would continue supporting their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in getting their just demand of right to self determination.
The Governor appealed to international community and UN to play its effective and imperative role in resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and to get the oppressed Kashmiri people liberated from wrathful tyranny and atrocities of India.
He reiterated the resolve of the government and people of Pakistan to continue moral, political and diplomatic support to just struggle of Kashmiris in getting independence from Indian yoke.
Meanwhile, big protest demonstrations were held in all 35 districts of KP including Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Kohat, Chitral, Bannu, DI Khan, Chitral, Kohat, South Waziristan, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Haripur, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Swabi, Manshera, Karak, Hangu and Dir Lower where people have raised placards and banners besides full throated slogans such as “Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan and India Go out of Kashmir.”
Besides rallies and walks, debate competitions were also held in Government and private schools and colleges where speakers through lights on different aspects of Kashmir issue and human rights violations in the held valley.
The newspapers published special supplements while electronic media broadcast special documentaries in connection with the black day.
